Miles Maxwell from Port Elizabeth in South Africa, was our first overseas’ player in 1996. He liked us that much he came back again in 1999.

In his first season with us he took 62 wickets in 18 matches for the Saturday 1st XI at an average of 9.40 and scored 583 runs at 44.85.

In his second season he took 64 wickets at 11.19 in 18 Saturday 1st XI matches and scored 475 runs at 33.93.

There are too many to count, from the tours to Yorkshire, to the strange cricket fields.

My favourite was not a single moment but rather it was the awesome people that made my experience so unforgettable.

Favourite meal: In England it was Toad in the Hole (Lol)

Biggest passion/hobby outside of cricket: Just playing sport like squash and hockey.

If you were an overseas player, what are you doing now (current profession, still playing cricket?):

Unfortunately, after I got injured I stopped playing very young and never played again.

I have been a junior school teacher for the last 17 years.

Fortunately, in my job I get to coach still. I am the 13A cricket coach and the 13B Hockey coach at Grey Junior School.

What does ACC mean to you?:

ACC is my second home.

It means a lot and I will treasure the amazing times and people I was blessed to have in my life during that time and some even still today.

Geoff Gooch needs a mention here as he become a second father to me while I was there (RIP).
