We are actively seeking a number of people regularly do/share the scoring & umpiring for our Saturday/Sunday league & development teams. The club will re-imburse anyone that completes the course.

Club Scorer Course

Club Scorer is the course for anyone wanting scoring on a regular basis and is the only one to comprehensively teach you how to score. This course is suitable for complete beginners and existing scorers who want to improve their skills. On completion of the course you will receive an ECB ACO Club Scorer attendance certificate.

ECB Umpiring Course

This new ECB Umpiring course is designed to give new umpires the key skills, knowledge and confidence to stand as an umpire in cricket. No prior experience of umpiring in cricket is required before attending the course although learners must be at least 14 years of age.

Whether you plan to support junior softball cricket through to adult cricket, this course will cover the following topics:

– Understanding the role of the umpire
– Gain a basic understanding of umpiring the game
– Answering appeals and the common methods of dismissal
– How to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the game
– Judging whether or not it is safe to play

We are aiming to schedule a second ECB Umpiring Course in the north of the county for early 2024.
